Frequently Asked Questions
In the hi-tech world of space-age memory foam and cutting edge
innovations, it is impossible to cover every aspect of the Temperflow® memory
foam mattress. Here is a list of the most commonly asked questions and concerns
about the Temperflow® memory foam mattress.
Does the Temperflow® really sleep cooler than other memory
foam mattresses?
Yes! The patent-pending Airflow Transfer System has been implemented in order to channel
your own body's heat away from you, while allowing cooler air to flow through
the the top layer for a cooling effect. Other mattresses may claim to have
ventilation on the surface, but with no airflow channels underneath, there can
be no open circulation effect. Other mattresses clam to have airflow
underneath the memory foam, but it is a well known fact that good quality, high
density memory foam does not breath well.
Is the Temperflow® similar to
the Tempur-Pedic® Mattress?
The Temperflow® mattress uses a technology that makes it feel very similar to the
Tempur-Pedic® mattress feel, only with a bit more pressure sensitivity on the
top-layer for a quicker responding feel. Of course, we also offer the patent pending Temperflow®
airflow technology to allow your body heat to ventilate out of the mattress,
while cooler air can flow through the layers. We had an independent agency
called Space Daily evaluate the Temperflow model that feels like our current
Selene model and put it next to a Deluxe bed by Tempur-Pedic® for a side by side
comparison. For more information on
their evaluation, please go to

Can you feel the pincore holes when you lay on the
Temperflow?
No. This is because the holes in the memory foam layer are less than a quarter
of an inch in diameter, and evenly spaced. The feel of the mattress is smooth,
silky, and supportive.
Will My Mattress Hold Up Over Time?
The important points to consider in determining whether a memory
foam mattress will hold up over a long period of time are the following:
1.The density of the memory foam:
The Temperflow® uses 5lb. memory foam to
allow for optimal mattress support and longevity.
2. The quality of the memory foam:
The Temperflow uses the highest quality, U.S.A. manufactured foam. Some
companies say that their mattresses are manufactured in the U.S., but they use
cheap foam that comes from overseas places like China. This will
dramatically hurt the longevity of a mattress.
3. The effect of Perspiration on any soft surface:
Because the Temperflow helps keep your body temperature from heating up, less
perspiration will occur and it will thereby help prevent the wearing down of the
foam cells and/or any fiber structure such as your sheets and mattress padding.
4. The use of a mattress breathable, absorbent mattress pad:
Using a 100% cotton mattress pad will help keep the breathability of the
mattress, but still offer protection to foam layers below over the years.
Will The Temperflow Mattress Hold Up as Well as a Spring
Mattress:
Many people are not aware that you are not just sleeping on
springs, but rather fiber and foam placed over the springs for a comfortable
sleeping surface (even when the mattress is not a pillow top). Memory foam
is a much higher density than fiber and conventional bed foams used.
Specifically, our testing and 7 years in the mattress business, have shown
that our mattresses will stand the test of time. That is why we have
placed a 30-year limited warranty on the Temperflow mattress.
Will I be able to use a water-resistant cover with my
Temperflow?
If your water resistant cover does not breathe well, it will
prevent the circulation effect from taking place. There are newer
technologies available that may offer some breathability, while retaining water
resistance, but we have not evaluated any with our mattress at this point in
time, so we continue to just recommend a cotton mattress pad for our customers
who want to retain the breathable nature of our mattress.
Is Memory Foam Really Non-Toxic?
The memory foam that comes out of the United States is a higher
quality product, with restrictions in the types of chemicals that can be used to
manufacture it. However, some companies in the U.S. and especially
overseas, still use chemicals like TDI. (toluene
diisocyanate), an OSHA class 3 carcinogen in their memory foam. Memory
foam manufactured with TDI are known to release the carcinogen TDA (toluenediamine)
after production due to the outgassing that occurs. Our Biogreen™
memory foam not only avoids using any TDI, but we have had confirmation from an
independent laboratory that there are no V.O.C. (Volatile Organic
Compounds) released from the memory foam and that there was less than 1% of
normal water vapor only released into the atmosphere! On top of this,
our BioGreen memory foam does not use any dangerous chemicals like Boric Acid,
Halogen, or PBDE for fire protection, as we use a non-toxic, hypoallergenic,
nylon fire socking for this purpose.
